Supporting your customers housing people under the Home for Ukraine scheme

Does our home insurance cover your clients to house people under the Homes for Ukraine scheme?

Yes, they're covered...and we think they're wonderful.

The world has been turned upside down by the recent events in Ukraine. It's heart-breaking to see the devastation and destruction being caused to so many.

That's why we want to make sure we're doing what we can to support our customers, who wish to welcome people displaced by the conflict in Ukraine, into their homes as guests.

There's no need for your clients to let us know if they're taking in someone fleeing the conflict in Ukraine and their cover won't be impacted.

To support our customers who wish to welcome people displaced by the conflict in Ukraine, into their homes as guests, we’re making the following commitments:

  • Your clients guests’ belongings will be covered within their Home Contents policy limit.
  • Loss or damage to their home or belongings (under their Buildings or Contents policy) by insured events such as fire, escape of water or theft, will be covered - even if one of their guests is responsible.
  • If they have a Home Contents policy, they're covered against a public liability claim if a guest is injured and they're found to be responsible.
  • If they've added Home Legal Expenses cover to their policy, their guest(s) will have use of our legal advice line, too.
