A referral opportunity

Our Marketing Team have worked with Mark Jackson for many years now and recently took a bit of time to catch up with him, about a new option available to Advisers. We found that as well as being one of our Key Account Managers, he also has a passion for Geocaching and DIY!

As an enthusiastic coffee drinker (he can’t resist a biscuit or two either) and Alternative music fan, he spends the majority of his time managing relationships with some of our largest Mortgage Network Partners. Every day is different for Mark, from supporting external partner events, identifying opportunities and shaping new propositions to developing and delivering relevant training material… we do sometimes wonder how he fits in the time to do anything else (apart from keeping up with Football and family film nights)!

An alternative option for Advisers

We believe that advisers are best positioned to provide GI advice to their clients, as they’ll know their clients better than anyone: this is usually from rapport building and understanding their needs from a mortgage fact find. We also know that life and business aren’t always straightforward and sometimes mortgage volumes are high, a key member of staff might be on holiday or leave the business and you might have a difficult case that you can’t place on your normal GI panel. 

That’s why we’ve set up a range of signposting (Refer and Earn options) to help support our partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for their clients and to meet their Consumer Duty obligations.

What’s Refer and Earn?

We’re glad you asked, we’re now able to provide some additional options to our Advisers, by working in partnership with a well-respected home insurance specialist broker, who'll be offering you a GI referral opportunity for our Directly Authorised partner. That’s not all, as we’ve also got a non-standard option with one of the world’s largest insurance brokerages, who’ll provide a non-standard GI referral opportunity for our Directly Authorised partner firms.

 

Why do you need it?

Advisers have an obligation under Consumer Duty to achieve the best possible outcomes for their clients, when it comes to GI advice. This could be alongside a new mortgage, but also maintaining regular contact at renewals and discussing GI again, alongside remortgages/product transfers. For advisers and firms who haven’t got the resource to discuss GI with their clients, or aren’t able to place through their usual GI panel, then securing a signposting/Refer and Earn partner can be a great way to help ensure you’re meeting your obligations.
